I was born in Cambridge, grew up in Amherst, and I live in Toulouse.

My basic philosophy is that people are fragile, and by default you should be gentle and polite with them.

People who know me will tell you that I never take anyone's word about anything.

In fact, I really believe very little. I mostly hold opinions about what's likely, and they change all the time.

If I publish something distasteful, it's usually because it makes me think — not because I agree with it.
