4x4's are the new Luxury Cars

This seems like an obvious observation but I haven't seen it anywhere, so perhaps not.

In the modern world where the main religion (among rich white folks) is ecology, it's a big no-no to have a luxury car. But people still want to spend lots of money, drive around in comfort and show off.

So, they buy big 4x4's that will never see a dirt road. It's politically correct because it makes you look outdoorsy and family-oriented.

But really it's no different than buying a Buick Electra.
